The spooky season has begun, and we’re ready to get dressed up and go trick or treating. Unfortunately, dogs don’t get many Halloween dog treats when they go trick or treating with us, so we thought we’d whip up some DIY dog treats for them to enjoy.

While fall is officially upon us, the weather here in Texas is still quite warm and humid. Generally, by this time of the year, we’re knee-deep in baking and enjoying the autumn flavors. However, this year, we’ve been keeping our baking to a minimum.
That’s how I came up with some no-bake DIY Halloween dog treat ideas and one that will require a little oven time. However, they are all super easy to make, and even the least kitchen savvy person will have no trouble at all. We’ve detailed the steps and have videos for each recipe below.
My dogs enjoy these five Halloween dog treats the most, and I can say with absolute certainty that they are their favorites. These DIY dog treats are super easy to make, will take very little time, and have minimal ingredients so that even the most sensitive of tummies can enjoy some Halloween dog treats too.
5 Halloween Dog Treats to Feed Your Pet This Fall
1. Sweet Potato Chews
Sweet potatoes are known to help maintain a healthy digestive system due to their high dietary fiber content. They are low fat and contain vitamins like B6, C, and A. They are the perfect dog treat for the fall.
Ingredients
- 3 large sweet potatoes
- Ground cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Slice the ends of each sweet potato.
- Slice each sweet potato lengthwise, about ⅓ inch slices.
- Place your sweet potato slices on a baking sheet.
- Place in the oven for 4-6 hours. The longer you leave them, the crunchier they will be.
2. No-Bake Pumpkin Balls
Canned pumpkin puree is an excellent source of fiber and helps with digestive regularity. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and contains healthy fats, vitamin B, niacin, and vitamin E. Together, they make an excellent Halloween dog treat.

- 5 oz. turkey baby food puree
- 1 banana
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

- In a large bowl, place the baby food and banana.
- Mash the banana and mix it into the baby food until well incorporated.
- Place into a silicone mold of your choice.
- Freeze for 4 hours or overnight.
